Where Can I Find These Shows?

Where Can I Find These Shows?

When this site was put together in 1998, very few of the shows covered by this site had been released on video. The few that had, mostly Krofft shows, were generally limited to a couple of episodes. To see the shows again, fans (including myself) were forced to rely on purchasing or trading for multi-generational copies from sources such as comic book/sci fi conventions, online auction sites, or unauthorized websites.

At the time, I got a lot of emails from fans of the various show asking me where they can find these shows. So I put together this page.

With the popularity of DVD and more specifically, television series on DVD, many of these long lost shows have been officially released, with more on the way.

Here's a breakdown by show title of what is (or was) available officially, with links to purchase when available, as well as what you might find through other sources. If the show is not available for purchase or viewing at one of the broadcast museums, your best bet is to try the various online auction sites or a generic web search for the show. As before, I can not (and will not) send or sell you copies of any of the shows.

Ark II

The entire series was released on DVD with bonus features in 2006. In 2008, the series was combined with the Space Academy and Jason of Star Command releases as Filmation Sci-Fi Box Set.

Barrier Reef:

No episodes have been officially released, but the series was rerun in North America at some point during the 1990s, so copies of some of the episodes are out there.

Bay City Rollers Show:

No episodes have been officially released of the Krofft Superstar Hour or the shortened version, The Bay City Rollers Show. The series was the only Saturday morning Krofft series from the 1970s that hasn't been aired as part of the Retro Saturday Morning series on Cox Cable in Orange County in California.

Thanks to some die hard Bay City Roller fans with access to vcrs in the 1970s, at least one episode, as well as several clips of the Rollers are out there.

Big John, Little John:

The series is scheduled to be released on DVD in 2009.

Volume two had three episodes: "Outlaw Bigfoot", "Eye of the Mummy", and "Birth of the Titan". Another episode, "The Black Box," was included on the now out of print, Columbia House "The World of Sid and Marty Krofft", Re-TV/Family series collection. Ebay from time to time. The World of Sid & Marty Krofft box set included the "Return Of The Vampire" episode

The first season of the show has aired as part of the second Krofft Supershow on Retro Saturday Morning series on Cox Cable in Orange County in California, so other episodes are out there.
