The Double Deckers were a group of seven young adults (aged 9
to 16) living in London who hung out and played together in a
converted doubledecker bus. The bus served as a club house for
the kids: Scooper, Spring, Billie, Brains, Doughnut, Tiger, and
Sticks (the only American member of the gang). The lone adult
regular was Albert, a street cleaner, who was friends with the
gang.
Filmed in England, this show was hit on both sides of the
Atlantic. Some of the actors are still in show business, Peter
Firth continues to act, including appearances in the Mighty
Joe Young remake and Amistad , and Brinsley Forde
is the lead singer of the band Aswad. For more in-depth
information, check the Where are
they now? page on David Anderson's
Double Deckers page.
